Vehicle Description
1966 Ford Fairlane 2 Door Hardtop Custom
In the mid 60s the term full-size meant "FULL"size and mid-sized
meant not as big, and that's where the Ford Fairlane fit into the
lineup. Not so big as to require a harbor pilot's license to guide
it down the street but big enough to put a few friends in it and
enjoy a drive-in movie with 4 or 5 friends. (Not including those in
the trunk). To spice things up the powers that be at Ford created
the GT trim package to compliment the sleek lines of the sheet
metal which included a full console with floor shift and bucket
seats. This great example is powered by a 351 V-8 Engine and a C6
transmission with said console and floor shifter. This is one is a
nicely done version of a tribute GT we have seen. It is not totally
correct having the color changed to Silver Blue and the seats
recovered in Camel Tan cloth and vinyl it is a striking color
combination. The 4 barrel 351 runs strong and has complete dual
exhaust system that starts with headers runs through a set
Flowmasters and exits out the back The transmission works great and
it goes down the road like you would expect it to. The power
steering adds to the driving pleasure along with the stylish Wheels
and radial tires for a look and road feel that make set it apart.
This one has a super look. You don't see Fairlane hardtops very
often and if you are looking for a mid-sized Ford with some style
and a little kick, don't miss out.
