Vehicle Description
2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible
Chevy would claim that the name Camaro was found in a
French-English dictionary to mean "friend, pal, or comrade." Simple
enough. The Chevy Camaro was born. Then, competitors started doing
some homework. One found a Spanish definition that was "A small,
shrimp-like creature," and a journalist claimed to find a
definition that meant "loose bowels." Now the fight was on. Chevy
countered with a definition that has lived on in automotive circles
ever since: "A Camaro is a small, vicious animal that eats
Mustangs." The point had been made, and the rest is history. For
consignment a super low mileage (less than 2,000 miles a year)
Camaro SS. Loaded with options, the largest engine you could get,
and the SLP Package (note RPO codes WU8, Z28, Y2Y on door) and
automatic transmission with overdrive. All wrapped up in a very
good condition and well cared for muscle car.
Exterior
Ebony all over, excepting for the red SS badging on the front
quarters, rear passenger bumper, and center of the grille.
Additional belt line body moldings stretch from the front to back
and add a bit of texture to the ebony. Paint appears in good
condition, as well as convertible top which functions flawlessly,
and has a clear back window. Beautiful polished chrome wheels are
wrapped by large new road handling radials, are noted on all 4
corners.
Interior
A squeeze of the keyless remote opens you up to the full leather
gray interior featuring 2 very nice front buckets, and a rear 2+2
setup. The driver's seat sports 6-way power adjustment, and sits
snugly next to the center console. A large glovebox with cupholders
and the automatic shifter live within this area. As we make our way
up to the dash, we note the power switch for the top, climate
controls, and an AM/FM Cassette 200 watt sound system. Analog
gauges excepting the odometer which is digital are clear, and very
clean looking within the curvaceous dash. Fronting the dash is a
leather wrapped steering wheel that allows the driver to adjust all
the radio controls from it. Dark gray carpet which appears in near
perfect condition floods the floor and is covered with factory SS
Chevrolet stitched floor mats. The door panels also present very
nicely, and house the power windows, power door locks, and mirror
controls.
Drivetrain
A more powerful optioned mill in the form of a 346ci V8 coupled to
an automatic transmission with overdrive is neatly tucked within
the pristine engine bay.
Undercarriage
Neat and clean showing only surface rust on bare steel parts, a
structurally sound frame and floorpans. Wilwood brakes are seen
added on, and an aftermarket exhaust snakes its way back from the
mill to the rear, ending in chromed tips.
This 2 owner SLP SS has led a pampered life, however, has given
much enjoyment to the current consigner when they had a chance to
take it out and stretch its legs. Like a favorite toy, it was well
cared for, and cleaned after being played with. Head on over to
Classic Auto Mall, put the top down, and ignite your potential new
toy.
