exterior. Plenty of prep work has resulted in an appearance that
only grows more impressive at close range. From front to back, the
body looks straight and solid and its stance strikes a great
balance - nice and low for improved handling and an aggressive
appearance, but without sacrificing wheel clearance for real world
driving. The cowl hood provides additional clearance and gives a
pretty strong hint that there's some serious power lurking below,
while both the Mustang graphics where the side windows meet the
quarter panel, as well as the spoiler mounted on the deck lid, are
great finishing touches. In front, the smoked headlights looming
above the Mustang emblem on the front bumper look awesome against
their black backdrop.
As the result of a very extensive refurbishment, the black leather
interior is as clean as can be, with a pair of high-backed buckets
sitting over the branded floor mats in front and a fresh unspoiled
bench seat in back. There are no real signs of wear inside and from
the look of things, every other visual detail has been covered . .
. and covered well. A set of Cobalt AutoMeter gauges have been
recessed into the carbon fiber instrument panel just beyond the
Momo steering wheel sitting on its tilting column, a full
complement of control switches and knobs have been installed in
place of the originals and the AM/FM/CD stereo is also iPod
compatible and combines with the interior speakers and woofer
cabinet behind the rear seat to provide a great audio experience.
The air conditioning system is also running in top form and stands
ready to cool or warm the cabin as needed.
The engine compartment is a veritable work of art, with an array of
polished and powder coated components on display under the hood and
a powerful fuel injected 347 stroker sitting at its center. Built
off of a Boss 302 block, the powerplant features aluminum AFR
heads, a performance cam, upgraded pushrods and a variety of other
top tier parts and is capable of producing a full 402 horsepower -
not at the flywheel, but at the rear wheels where it really
matters. A Tremec 3550 5-speed manual transmission, one of the few
that can be relied upon to reliably handle such an output, sits
just behind it. The Ford Motorsports 3.73 gears in back are the
perfect complement to the transmission's overdrive capabilities, so
you'll be able to enjoy pulse-pounding acceleration off the line
along with engine sparing revs at highway speeds. The full UPR
coilover suspension reduces overall weight while offering an
enhanced ride and teams with smooth power steering for outstanding
handling capabilities. Power brakes with discs up front bring this
skillfully enhanced Mustang to quick stops on its set of show
stopping 17" wheels outfitted with Nitto NT555 tires.
