For Sale: 1968 Ford Mustang in Concord, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

With a bright color combo, upgraded V8 power, and timelessly classic look, this 1968 Ford Mustang convertible has an instant appeal.

Viper Red isn't a factory color, but you wish it was. After all, a red Mustang droptop is iconic, and this one has added flair with a newer paint application that has a nice gloss in the clearcoat finish. The updated appearance continues on the 17-inch alloys borrowed from a later model Mustang. But even with these upgrades, this never loses the classic look. That's why the bumpers and taillight bezels shine so nicely against the paint. And the deeper C-channel running down the body of the '68 not only adds more sporty appeal, but also demonstrates the straightness of the sheetmetal.

As much as we like the way this one looks with the black roof in place, when you take it down, it reveals an even more impressive color package. After all, the two-tone does a great job of coordinating with the red exterior while also offering a bold white on the bucket seats, door cards, dash, and center console. The wood on the steering wheel goes nicely with the wood handle on the floor shifter. Plus, the driver gets the improved round gauge package that came on later versions of the first-gen Mustangs. Overall, there's a very correct and premium feeling inside everywhere you look, from the color-matched boot cover to the AM radio that's still cranking out tunes.

The red theme even continues under the hood with the block and ribbed valve covers adding to this Mustang's bold presentation. Plus, the tower braces, air topper, and Monte Carlo bar give this a fine shine, too. More than just look nice, this V8 was upgraded for power. The callouts might say 289, but this is actually a larger 302 unit. Plus, it has been rebuilt with performance goodies like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and headers feeding the sweet-sounding dual exhaust. And with a three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes w/discs up front, and modern performance tires, this powerful droptop Mustang is a great all-around cruiser.

Complete with owner's manual and restoration photos, this is the iconic classic with extra power and a standout color package. So don't miss this Mustang. Call now!
