Vehicle Description
The late-great Carroll Shelby built an incredibly successful career
of making all sorts of cars faster. This rare pickup raised an
eyebrow in 1989 when the Dodge Shelby Dakota was produced. Only
1,500 of these racy pickups were built for just one year, and
two-and-a-half decades later they still turn heads. What makes this
truck so special is what's under the hood. Powered by 5.2-liter LA
318 V-8 with throttle body fuel injection lashed to a four-speed
A500 automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. This
was the first V-8, rear-wheel-drive vehicle with Shelby's name on
it since the 1960's.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1989 Dodge Shelby Dakota
for purchase. With only 68,497 miles this truck still has a long
life ahead. The classic Shelby Dakota interior is included on this
truck and is in phenomenal shape showing the repeated Shelby name
on the cloth insets. Along with the custom leather Shelby wrapped
steering wheel, the two Shelby plaques on the dashboard, and the
cloth inserts in each door as well. The previous owner kept this
truck in top shape, stating he only drove it a handful of times.
All of the original owner's manuals are with the truck, including
the selling dealer's cassette and original window sticker.
This Dodge is a blast from the past with its styling and
factory/backed special editions! With its speedy demeanor this
truck is begging to be driven. Turn heads everywhere you go in this
Shelby Dakota. This vehicle has always been adult owned with a
clean title, stored winters, no body damage ever and remains
exceptionally clean inside and out.
