Vehicle Description
For those of us who hold firm to the notion that "there's no
replacement for displacement", this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 502
is an absolute "must see". It's got plenty more than sheer cubic
inches going for it - although it's hard not to crack an admiring
smile when you hear that big block rumbling away under its hood, as
it also features an outstanding exterior and a host of great
upgrades to add an improved ride and enhanced drivability to all
that power.
This classic Chevy will draw you in for sure. Magnetic red paint
with authentic looking broad black stripes running down the hood
and deck lid now sit in place of the gray shade it began life with,
upping the curb appeal as the combo sits over smooth, well-prepped
steel and offers a nice shine. You really have to see this car at
close range to fully appreciate it, as it shows an impressive level
of fit and finish. Its body lines are precise from every angle, the
chrome bumpers, body trim and badging are all in top notch
condition and the stance shows just the proper aggressive incline
you'd want in an asphalt scorcher like this. The badged cowl hood
is stylishly subtle, rising just high enough to hint at the power
that's waiting for action below.
The revamped black interior is pretty impressive in its own right.
It features an overall vintage look, but with some great upgrades
added to create a one of a kind custom appearance. The wide
Chevelle buckets and the bench seat behind them wear snug fitting
vinyl covers and sit over fresh matching carpeting, with a pair of
badged floor mats up front. Just sliding into the driver's seat is
enough to make your pulse quicken - as you grip the Billet
Specialties steering wheel, you'll find a full contingent of
white-faced AutoMeter gauges in the instrument cluster - all of
them fully functional - while the Hurst ratcheting shifter waits
within easy reach, housed in a factory center console that's also
in great shape. A fresh, supple dash pad runs the width of the
cabin just above the instrumentation and an AM/FM/CD stereo is
there to handle your audio needs. The trunk area in back is very
solid - with no liner on the floor, you can easily see its
well-prepped components and their surfaces are very clean.
This Chevelle is a flat out rocket. There's a 502 cubic inch GM
performance crate motor under that cowl hood - armed with aluminum
heads and an aluminum intake manifold carrying a custom built and
tuned carb, its output is substantial, offering a full horsepower
per cubic inch. The custom-built headers at its sides combine with
the dual Flowmaster exhaust to produce a dominating note that's
sure to draw attention as the big block pairs with a 3-speed
automatic TH400 transmission that shifts smoothly with the manual
valve body, as the car was built to shift like a manual with no
clutch pedal. A sizable aluminum radiator equipped with dual
electric fans stands by up front to keep temperatures under
control. Featured tubular front suspension, power steering and a
sizable sway bar make for sharp, easy handling and a great ride,
and Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners with drilled and
slotted rotors match with a Wilwood master cylinder to provide
excellent, fade-resistant stopping ability. A set of Billet
Specialities wheels - 18" in front and 20" in back - perfectly
complement the visual impact of this outstanding Chevelle.
Exceptional power and curb appeal combine with a skillfully
restored interior to make this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 502 an
absolute standout. Call today!
