Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 20th year in the
classic and muscle car business. Chevrolet's El Camino has enjoyed
a loyal following of enthusiasts since its introduction in 1959.
The smoother ride of a suspension based on a passenger car combined
with a useful cargo bed appealed to an entirely new group of
potential customers. Also, in an age when virtually all trucks were
spartan workhorses, the El Camino could be ordered with a multitude
of options that were unavailable on trucks. This stunning 1970 El
Camino SS 396 represents an extreme example of a well-informed
customer taking full advantage of the option sheet. This Cranberry
Red beauty came from the factory positively loaded with options and
features including the SS 396 package (Z25), 396/350 hp engine
(L34), TH400 automatic transmission (M40), 3.31 ratio Positraction
axle (G80,G94), power front disc brakes (J50,JL2), air conditioning
(C60), front compartment floor console (D55), Strato Bucket seats
(A51), instrument panel gauges (U14), tinted glass (A01), and
electric clock (U35). Alterations during the extensive restoration
were limited to the addition of power steering, removal of the
vinyl top, and a color change. Excellent documentation includes
build sheet, Protect-O-Plate, shipping invoice, and GM transit
punch card. This is an exceptional car with outstanding paint, an
immaculate interior, excellent glass, and good trim. Ready for your
