Vehicle Description
1973 was an epic year for the Porsche 914. The 1973 Porsche 914 was
now available with a 2.0-liter engine producing 96 horsepower and
mated to a vastly improved "side shifter" transmission linkage.
These updates were credited with bringing "Porsche-like performance
to the four cylinder 914. Porsche experts generally agree that the
1973 914 2.0L is the best performing and most desirable of all
914's.
This Summer Yellow 914 with black interior is the recipient of a
comprehensive 3-year mechanical and cosmetic restoration carried
out to the highest of standards. This Porsche 914 was delivered
with the rare "trim delete option" which consisted of elimination
of the vinyl sail panels, replaces the chrome option bumpers with
matte black and provided the optional Pedrini alloy wheels.
During the mechanical restoration the motor was rebuilt utilizing
big bore piston and cylinder kit providing for an increase in
displacement and horsepower.
This Porsche has been well received and its provenance verified
with first place wins in major events such as the 2018 Porsche Club
of America Concours d'Elegance, the 2018 Misselwood Concours
d'Elegance as well as a first-place win in the prestigious Boston
Cup and the Museum Choice Award at Larz Anderson Museum of
Transportation.
This is arguably the best 1973 Porsche 914 available in the
collector car market.
