After Pontiac's success with the GTO, Oldsmobile followed close
behind with the 442 package, so named for its 4-barrel carburetor,
4-speed manual transmission and dual exhaust. GM's decision to
allow engines of a more than 400 CI displacement in its 1970
intermediates gave Oldsmobile free reign to offer its 455 CI V-8 in
the Cutlass-based 442, creating the foundation for the mighty W-30,
arguably the wildest Oldsmobile ever built. Advertised as the
creation of one Dr. Oldsmobile, each W-30 engine was balanced and
blueprinted at the factory, where it was fitted with a special
high-performance cam, high-flow Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel
carburetor and low-restriction dual exhaust. The W-30 also
incorporated forced air induction using a twin-scooped fiberglass
hood with hold-down pins, red plastic inner fenders, and less sound
insulation to reduce weight. This 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Coupe
has been treated to a frame off restoration in 2008 and has a
rebuilt F block 455/370 HP engine, OW tagged TH400 Automatic
transmission and TM stamped 3.42 geared rear end. Beautifully
finished in Reef Turquoise Metallic with white stripes. This 442 is
very well equipped with power windows, power steering, power disc
brakes, factory A/C, tilt sport steering wheel, Rally Gauges, Dual
Gate Hurst Shifter, bucket seats with center console and power
trunk release. This pinnacle Oldsmobile muscle machine is the real
deal with Build sheet to verify authenticity. Owned by previous
owner for the last 12 years. Call or email
