If you’re reading this, you know that SS cars cannot be verified by VIN, only by the rare build sheet or Protect-o-Plate. This car does not have that documentation. This car has a heavy duty steering shaft, boxed lower-rear control arms, 12 bolt differential, heavy duty sway bars, correct tach and dash. The motor and transmission have been replaced.
The owner bought this SS (red car in photo) with a salvaged title to build his dream car. The car underwent a total frame-off restoration in 2007. The front clip has been replaced within the last 6 months. The owner has passed away and the family is selling his car.
Exterior: Beautifully finished in Cortez silver with black stripes. Cowl induction hood (not connected to vacuum),hood pins. All chrome and bright work in new condition. No rust, dings or dents on this car. Fit and finish are excellent.
Interior: Cerullo performance bucket seats. Rear bench seats reupholstered to match. No wear, rips or tears in upholstery.
Motor and Driveline: Smeding Performance 540 Extreme big block ($11k in 2007). Specs are listed in photos. Turbo-400 automatic transmission with 2500 stall torque converter. Sanderson headers exit through 3” exhaust.
Computer generated specs:0 to 60 -4.6 seconds, ¼ mile speed 120 mph, ¼ mile elapsed time 11 second, top speed at 6000 rpm’s 160 mph. 622 hp @ 5200 rpm’s at flywheel. 691 ft lbs. torque at 3900 rpm’s.
This one is done and ready to rock. It started out as an ugly duckling with salvage title, and has been turned into one Mean Machine!
