1968 Plymouth GTX 440 Convertible
Garage Kept Motors is pleased to offer this super rare 1968
Plymouth GTX 440 Convertible. This vehicle is from The John
Staluppi Cars of Dreams Museum in Palm Beach, FL, one of the finest
car collections in the world. If you've never heard of Mr.
Staluppi, it would be worthwhile to look him up. Plymouth only made
881 of these GTX Convertibles, making it highly collectible, and
even more so being a former Cars of Dreams museum piece.
This vehicle came from the factory finished in Sable White (code W)
paint with a matching white soft top over a White (code S6W) trim.
It is powered by the original 440cid/375hp 4bbl V8 High Performance
engine mated to a console shifted 3-Speed Automatic transmission.
When Plymouth released the GTX, they rightfully named it The
Gentleman's Muscle Car. It had plenty of power when you put your
foot down but also some nice refinements, such as power windows,
power convertible top, and air conditioning, all of which still
function as they should. The car also features wood trim, power
window switches in all seating areas, front bucket seats, center
console, Coker redline tires, full spare tire, dual exhaust, dome
lighting, original AM/FM radio, boot cover, and remains rust
free.
This factory Triple White GTX with the "Super Commando" 440 is the
real deal. A garage-kept example worthy of any collection. This is
a concours example at a reasonable price, given Hagerty values it
at $87,600. Make us an offer! Be sure to check out all the photos
and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors. Call if
interested or e-mail with any questions. Thank you for looking.
