Vehicle Description
The smooth-running power and current condition of this 1971
Chevrolet Chevelle means it's ready to hit the road and create
future memories just as soon as you get it home. It's a great
looking muscle car and represents the model at the peak of its
sculpted second generation form. Having logged an unusually low
82,000 miles during its lifetime, it's very solid from front to
back and should you so choose, it can be taken to an even higher
level with just a bit of freshening up.
Chevelles were riding an aesthetic crest when this '71 debuted.
After having received a thorough restyling a few years earlier,
their class rolled out with distinctive changes that would set them
apart from the model's earlier representatives while not messing
with the sculpted body and long hood, short deck lid formula that
had helped make them such a hit. The prominent single headlights to
each side of the wide front grille are examples of their handiwork.
The Marina blue paint it features, accented by the broad white
stripes running the lengths of its hood and deck lid, was a
signature look for Chevelles in its era and, after having received
a recent wet sanding and buffing, the exterior has a great shine to
it. The overall authentic appearance of this Chevy is a definite
strong suit - save for its set of ultra-sharp aftermarket wheels,
its exterior remains in stock form, with solid bumpers at both ends
and brightwork that's in good condition.
There's a thoroughly vintage-looking interior waiting inside. The
plushly padded bench seating in both front and back mixes vinyl and
cloth and will provide plenty of sofa-like comfort while you and
your passengers are out on the road. The brighter painted surfaces
of the inner doors and dash area add just a bit of aftermarket
vitality, as does the updated steering wheel sitting on its column.
The matching blue carpeting lining the floor looks nice and fresh
and if you take a closer look inside, you'll see one of the decided
benefits of the Chevelle's roomy cabin - there's plenty of real
estate in front of that rear bench seat so your backseat passengers
can ride in comfort and considering the status of this classic
Chevy, you'll have no shortage of eager volunteers. The trunk area
in back looks solid as well - its interior floor is well coated for
protection and a fresh rubber seal sits under the deck lid to keep
the elements out.
Plenty of streetable power stands by under the hood in the form of
a 350 cubic inch crate engine. It's outfitted with a chrome
Edelbrock air cleaner and chrome Chevy valve covers to add some eye
candy, as well as an Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley 4-barrel
carb to optimize its output. These well-chosen components make for
a great experience behind the wheel - the engine has just a slight
lope that might suggest a performance cam has also been added, but
nothing so drastic as to be distracting and there's a nice mild
rumble coming through the aftermarket headers leading out to the
newly replaced dual exhaust. Just behind the 350 is a 3-speed
automatic transmission that's shifting with precision. The brakes
on this vintage muscle car were recently serviced, so the stops are
dependable, while power steering makes it easy to navigate on its
set of absolutely show-stopping 17" Foose wheels wrapped with
Continental tires.
This 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle represents the chance to own a
coveted, strong running classic muscle car at an attainable price.
