The 2013 Camaro ZL1 is the successor to Chevy's legendary 1969 Camaro ZL1, a car that the manufacturer threw every technological trick in its book at to create a dominant street legal race car. Oil to oil heat exchangers are used for engine, transmission and rear differential cooling. The 6-speed Tremec 6060 transmission, driveshaft, u-joints and half shafts are all reinforced to handle what the LSA is capable of dishing out.
The factory conservatively lists 0-60 and 1/4 mile times at 3.8 and 11.9 @ 116mph. But this car is not just about straight line performance. The ZL1 is a highly capable track car thanks to the Magnetic Ride Control, Performance Traction Control and huge Brembo brakes (6 piston front, 4 piston rear). Massive P285/35ZR20 front and P305/35ZR20 rear tires complete the package.
