Vehicle Description
The model epitomized the personal luxury car niche during its era
and this 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo represents it well, with a fine
looking, era-appropriate shade draped over its exterior and a very
strong running V8 joining other top tier components both under the
hood and inside the doors to provide a great driving
experience.
This vintage Chevy now wears Forest Green metallic paint that's
just a stone's throw from the original color, but with some
metallic flake added to both the green of the body and the white of
the roof that really comes alive in the sunlight. A closer
inspection will provide a greater appreciation for what's on
display - besides the visual impact of the paint, the body lines
look very precise, both the front and rear bumpers are clean and
level and clear glass with fresh rubber seals surrounds the cabin.
The distinctive egg-crate front grille was added the very year this
'72 came out to close out the first generation of the model and it
too is in great shape. There's definitely a lot to like here - this
is a great looking ride, chock full of '70s style with its generous
wheelbase, long hood area and sloping rear roofline.
The green interior sports a stock look and a strong overall
condition, with front bucket seats wearing new vinyl covers as they
sit to either side of a center console bearing its signature Chevy
"horseshoe" shifter. Fresh green carpeting lines the floor, with a
pair of Monte Carlo-branded floor mats in front. The dash area has
received the attention needed to bring out its best and features
factory gauges in its burlwood grain instrument panel that are
joined by aftermarket displays to keep tabs on temperature, oil
pressure and voltage. In-dash vents just below are a strong sign
that this Monte Carlo left the factory with air conditioning
already on board and a new Vintage Air climate control system is
now in place to keep the interior ice cold for the summer and as
warm as you could want during the colder months. As you cruise in
this classic you'll enjoy a quality audio experience. The
vintage-looking RetroSound stereo features a USB port to expand
your sonic options and teams with a collection of JBL speakers and
dedicated amp. The trunk area is very spacious with a solid floor
pan and full size spare just in case.
Raise the hood on this classic and you'll be greeted by a
well-detailed engine compartment, at the center of which rests a
350 cubic inch V8 that's running very strong. It's wearing an
Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake manifold underneath its chrome
air cleaner to maximize its output, along with a pair of ceramic
coated headers that reduce back pressure while sending a great note
out of the newly added exhaust system. An oversized radiator sits
up front to help keep engine temperatures down in more demanding
conditions and the added serpentine belt system not only looks
sharp, but also offers improved pulley contact to reduce belt
slippage and help everything run more efficiently. The engine pairs
with a 3-speed automatic TH350 transmission that provides slip free
shifts. Power steering makes navigating this classic easy, while
power brakes that feature discs up front offer dependable stops,
assisted by the new brake booster and master cylinder also on
board. The wiring on this vintage Chevy has been replaced from
front to back with American Autowire harnesses to improve
reliability. This undeniably cool '70s cruiser rides on a set of
15" stock wheels with Chevy Motor Division hubcaps that are wrapped
with Performance GT Grand Prix tires.
Looking ultra sharp and running great, this 1972 Chevrolet Monte
Carlo offers a great combination of classic style and drivability.
