Vehicle Description
This 1981 Jeep Scrambler received a full restoration a few years
ago and has only been driven 1,000 miles since. The stock
suspension was upgraded with a lift kit, shocks, and steering
stabilizer from Rancho. The 35x12.5x17" tires and wheels are from
Dick Cepek. The factory installed 4.2L engine, which was carbureted
initially, has been upgraded with a Multi-Port Injection kit from
Mopar Performance. The kit, which costs nearly $3,000 for parts
alone, replaces the stock carburetor, intake manifold and other
significant emissions and engine components with multi-point
injection (MPI). Each cylinder has its own injector that is
activated sequentially according to the firing order to precisely
control individual fuel requirements. These MPI Conversion Kits are
self-compensating and run equally well from sea level to terrain
above 12,000 feet. This system is California smog compliant, and we
have all paperwork on hand along with a current smog certification.
The interior has all-weather seats front and rear and a bikini top.
The interior floor has been protected with body-color liner coating
for more all-weather protection. This Jeep runs and drives very
well and looks and feels the part with nothing more than a tarp
over your head and a safety door at your side.
