The 4th generation Continental was introduced in 1961 as Lincoln's
lone production model and was available in sedan or 4-door
convertible trim. The convertible was especially unique because it
implemented hidden B-pillars, as well as a power top which
disappeared under the rear-hinged decklid when not in use. Suicide
doors were also incorporated and became a staple of this vehicle's
appearance - in fact, no other American car manufactured since WWII
would feature both a convertible top and four doors. The
Continental rode on an extended unibody chassis derived from the
1961 Ford Thunderbird. Power was supplied by a 430 cid V8 and sent
through a 3-speed Twin-Range Turbo-Drive automatic transmission.
Standard features included: automatic choke, automatic retracting
rear door windows (convertible only), cigarette lighters, dual
exhausts, electrical windshield washer, electric clock, folding
center armrests, heater/defroster, hood ornament, hydraulic
windshield wipers, large-capacity instrument panel ash tray, loop
pile carpeting, parking brake warning light, power brakes, power
fabric convertible top, power steering, power windows,
power-operated door locks, rear door ajar warning light,
three-spoke steering wheel, walnut veneer adorned interior panels
(door/instrument), and white sidewall tires. A leather interior
option was also available. For the 1962 model year a simplified
front grille design was adopted. This particular example features a
black leather interior that is free of cracks or tears, six-way
power seat, and front seat belts. The 5 digit odometer reads
