Vehicle Description
Doesn't this little VW Veep-Jeep look like too much fun? It could
be your personal little attention getter for the street or it could
make a perfect toy at a beach or lake house or even a shuttle for
festivals or a business that needs to run back and forth around a
big facility.
When people see this Veep coming with the Teal and White paint and
the Teal and White fringe edged canopy, they can't help but smile.
It looks like it's ready to cruise down to the dock to pick someone
up or maybe cruise around a gated community. The windshield can be
folded down for an even more open feeling and the canopy frame
provides nice hand holds for getting in and out or for keeping your
balance when everyone has piled on for the ride to down to the
party. New mirrors and hood pins add a splash of flash to the look
and you will find a lockable storage box up front under the hood.
Steel wheels painted body color with large polished hubcaps and
wide white wall tires perfectly compliment and complete the
look.
Go ahead, step on into it, there are no doors. It doesn't get much
more basic or simple than this. There is a small black steering
wheel which is thickly padded and feels good in your hands and the
shifter for the manual transmission is just a flick of the wrist to
the right. The windshield has Veep lettering in the center and also
has separate windshield wiper motors instead of linkages. There is
a white instrument panel in the center with the speedometer as well
as engine gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, voltage and
fuel, and all the way off to the right is a nice little glovebox.
Back seat passengers can settle onto the bench that is striped in
blue and white vinyl just like the front seats, and hang on to the
cooler or each other for the ride.
Being based on VW bug running gear means several things. For one,
the 1600 CC motor is in the back behind the tailgate. It is simple
and reliable and when you do want some service done, it is easy to
find people who are familiar with them and they are easy to get
parts for it. This one has just had a recent tune-up with fresh
plugs, cap and wires as well as a new alternator belt so no worries
there for a while. Being air cooled means that you don't have to
worry about liquid coolant freezing if you leave it in storage over
a cold winter and there certainly aren't any computers to drain the
battery down while it sits. A torsion bar front suspension and air
shocks in the rear along with those wide white wall tires that are
5.60-15s make this light little vehicle fun to drive.
This Veep is cute, fun, and brings a smile to everyone's face when
you drive it. Come on down and check it out. You might just realize
that you really need a vehicle like this!
