All original matching numbers 1966 Ford Mustang, 289 V8, 2 BBL, Automatic Transmission, Factory AC
Full history known. It is a California car built in San Jose, CA. It has always been garaged and has no rust. It was originally purchased by a family friend in 1966 for his wife in Reseda, CA. It was later purchased by my wife's father around 1978 and was moved to Huntington Beach, CA where it was used as a daily driver and garaged until 1999. It had some minor fender damage during this period that was repaired and that is the only damage that was ever done during its lifespan. It was repainted the original Tahoe Turquoise after the fender repair. We inhereted the Mustang in 1999 and moved it to Fair Oaks, CA. It was driven about 1,000 to 2,000 miles/year mostly cruising local car shows and cruise nights and was always garaged. The motor was rebuilt in 2014 at 170,000 plus miles. We had an engine mechanic friend rebuild the motor who made sure that everything was reinstalled to factory specifications including the matching numbers tag on the block as well as the blue Ford Motor color, Air Filter repainted the original color with new decals. We moved the Mustang with us in 2015 to Goodyear, AZ when I retired where it remains today. It has about 1500 miles on the new motor at this point and it is still garaged. The transmission is the original transmission, has factory air conditioning that still works, new like model AC compressor,new tires. Power assist brakes have been added, replaced original steering wheel with identical new match, trunk mat has been replaced with original match, carpet has been replaced, new rear leaf springs, new head lights, after market center console in matching turquoise, dual exhaust, radiator overflow bottle and radio. The original radio and CA license plates are stored. All factory instruction stickers are still attached inside the trunk lid. Everything still works including the cigarette lighter. This is a great running car.
