Vehicle Description
They say competition makes you tougher. If that's the case, this is
one of the toughest cars there is. In '69, Ford needed an answer to
the red-hot Road Runner, and NASCAR racing was at its zenith with
Petty, Yarborough, Pearson, and Baker duking it out every week. The
Torino Cobra is the product of all this performance mayhem. And the
Ford Drag Team took Cobras with them to compete in NHRA Super Stock
action. You simply can't go wrong with this package. It starts with
the legendary 428 Cobra Jet mill, then the C6 Automatic, and
finally the practically bullet proof 9-inch rear. An axle so tough,
it's often seen in hot cars of non-Ford origin. This one has it
all. The fact that it's red with a black interior makes it all the
more desirable. It's even air conditioned. Traction bars were added
to get all that Cobra Jet power to the ground. After all, losing is
not an option.
