To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' Paris event, 6 February
2019.
Estimate:
€80.000 - €100.000
- Offered from the Youngtimer Collection
- Alpina's first 6-Series conversion
- Gorgeous Arktisblau metallic over beige leather
Alpina's first full conversion on BMW's 6-Series platform, the B7
Turbo was introduced in December 1978. It had the same engine as
the 5-Series-based B7 Turbo saloon and was based on BMW's 3.0-litre
inline six-cylinder engine, but rebuilt with lower-compression
Mahle pistons and a new fuel-injection system. A variable boost
control for the turbocharger meant that output could be modulated
between 250 and 300 bhp.
Finished in Arktisblau metallic with contrasting gold Alpina
graphics and a beige leather interior, this B7 boasts perhaps the
quintessential BMW Alpina colour combination, subtle yet
sophisticated. Previous registrations on file show that the car
previously resided in Germany and then Austria before being
purchased by its current owner two years ago.
One of 183 examples produced, the E24-generation Alpina B7 Turbo
showcases what Alpina does best: take BMW's finest products and
make them better, yet in a subtle way that only makes them
noticeable to true enthusiasts. This B7 Turbo would be an excellent
driver for the individual looking for something different,
something special, and something fun. To view this car and others
