This is a spectacular example of a limited production 1964 Dodge Polara 500 Convertible.  The second generation Dodge Polara was produced from 1962-1964.  This car is 1 of only 2,646 convertibles built in 1962 including all engines, colors and configurations making this car very unique.  This car was recently verified by Mopar expert David Wise report.  This car was an early production build on October 7th, 1963.  Over 4000 hours were logged by the owner Bruce Hinrichs and well-known Muscle Car Restorations restoring this car to the highest standards.  Six years were spent accumulating over 1,300 NOS parts.  The body is laser straight and the paint quality is superb.  It’s finished in the original White color which is accented with Premium Blue interior and matching power convertible top.  All of the glass is new and date coded.  All of the exterior appointments are in exceptional condition.  The car sits on the correct 14” wheels with super-spinner wheel covers and 8.00 x 14 Goodyear Super Cushion white wall tires.  The gorgeous interiors all-saddle-grain-vinyl seat upholstery was replaced with repos by Legendary Auto interiors.  It duplicates the factory-original shiny, almost metallic look.  Everything in the interior is in working order including the clock.  The trunk compartment is well sorted with trunk mat, spare tire and tools.  The engine compartment is extremely detailed and home to the original matching numbers 383 V8.  Performance-wise the best overall V8 was the 383 four barrel.  Its peak horsepower is 330 at 4600 rpm and torque was 425 lbs. ft. at 2800 rpm.  The engine is coupled the original matching numbers 4-speed manual transmission.  Although 1964 was the first year for the Chrysler built A-833 4-speed this car was factory installed with the Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed due to its early production date.  The undercarriage is also extremely detailed and painted the body color.  Everything has been restored correctly with factory markings throughout.  This car was first shown in 1992 and it achieved some major accolades.  It was awarded the Gold Certificate and named Best of Show at the Mopar Nationals.  It scored 1701 out of a possible 1760 points which was the highest judged point total ever at the 1992 Mopar Nationals.  Mopar Muscle voted it Best of Show and Mopar Mania named it the #1 restored Mopar in the world for 1992.  This car was also featured in five magazines which include Chrysler Power, High Performance Mopar, Muscle Car Restoration and Performance and Chrysler Car Enthusiast.  The five magazines, 1992 Mopar National Award, owner’s manual, California black plates and car cover are included.  This car has been essentially hidden for the last twenty years.  This car has recently been serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that is included.
