THE INCREDIBLE STORY BEHIND THIS 1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS PRO-STREET
A few months ago, a gentleman from New York City called me about a listing we had and (HALF WAY) offered me the "30 YEAR LOVE OF HIS LIFE" ... a ... real 1970 SS Chevelle (that he had loved, protected and spent a fortune on) as a trade-in. He lived in the city and loved his prized Chevelle so much that (for all 30 years) he rented a large 2 car storage garage where he could work, protect and tinker with his toy. Some time ago, he had some very good years in his business and completed a "NO MONEY SPARED" complete upgrade of the drivetrain, engine compartment and undercarriage to create "HIS DREAM CHEVELLE". In his words .... he regularly exercised his prized Chevelle (in the residential area of Brooklyn) much to the chagrin of his city dwelling neighbors and the local NYPD. He is a complete expert on this car and related for me details about the engine builder, painter, transmission builder, rear-end builder ... and ... could explain almost every single item that was used to construct this beast as well as what it cost. He was extremely proud of his Dyno report of 843 HP and 734 LB-Ft of Torque as well as the test run slip he had where it ran a 9.87 in the Quarter Mile with a Top Speed of 138 MPH.

Well ... I was very interested in his car (the older I get ... the ... more I love Horse Power). However, he was not really ready to part with it ... since ... he had so much invested in it both emotionally and financially. We became good telephone friends for at least 6 months where we talked about his car and even considered some of the cars that we were offering ... but ... I had come to the conclusion that he might never turn loose of his 1970 Chevelle. Much to my amazement, we finally made a deal. However, as late as yesterday he and I spoke about this Chevelle where he just wanted a update on it's status. He is very concerned that it's new owner have just as much PASSION for this Chevelle as he did.
