Vehicle Description
The 1963 Pontiac Bonneville was the king of the road. So you know
it's something quite special to find a highly original example that
has been exceptionally maintained and respected over its ultra-low
31,500-mile life.
Yes, you are reading the mileage correctly. This car has averaged
barely over 550 miles annually. That kind of little use combined
with great care is why this coupe is such a crisp and complete
example today. And with the special design, we understand why a car
like this would be cherished. 1963 was the first year for the
now-iconic stacked headlight design. You can see it so well because
all the bright work seems to be centered around it. The bold chrome
bumper cradles the bottom, and the grille and sweeping side trim
are almost like arrows pointing towards the vertical headlights.
Out back is even more cohesive chrome with one of the best
form-fitting bumpers that blends seamlessly into the hint of
tailfin. The factory-correct saddle bronze paint has been given one
professional respray later in life, and that really helps keep this
hardtop looking like a true time capsule.
This exceptional feeling continues inside. Such low mileage means
little seat time, and so this highly original interior remains
deep, dark, and crisp. Everything has been treated with great care,
right down to the clear windows. Plus, there's plenty of room for
family and friends, so you get to share this nice presentation any
time you want. You're going to love slipping behind the steering
wheel and gazing at the dash that's as long as the horizon. Not
only is the artful trim still shining brightly, but also this is
complete, right down to all the details. The translucent steering
wheel inserts, hint of wood on the lower dash, and much more give
you that ideal feeling of '60s luxury. Even the original AM radio
is still on display.
On a car with so much originality thus far, it's great to have
what's believed to be the original V8 still under the hood. Fans of
the GTO recognize the Pontiac 389 cubic-inch motor, and it's a
great powerplant to have here, too. This even has a four-barrel
carburetor and dual exhaust. But this one is really about
effortless cruising. The engine runs smooth, and you have easy
shifting of the automatic transmission (also believed original.)
There's even power steering and power brakes to keep this
Bonneville cruising the boulevard.
Complete with title documentation, this is a low-mileage time
capsule example of one of the best Pontiac designs ever. Something
this special rarely stays available for long, so don't miss out.
