Vehicle Description
1933 Ford Pickup
The Ford Model A can be found in many iterations: coupe, to a
roadster, to a sedan to a pickup. Henry Ford had a solid base in
the Model A and appeased the masses with various options on that
frame.
This Model A has been painstakingly restored to its current hot rod
state. One of the cars in the Classic Auto Mall Collection that is
a shower AND a goer. Goer in the true sense of the word, as the
consigner has drivability on his mind every step of the build. No
stone left unturned on this one!
Exterior
Burgundy, Burgundy, Burgundy (with metal flake) with a peppering of
chrome best describes this steel bodied 1933 rodded pickup.
Retaining most of its original look, save for some painting over
chromed areas, this truck presents with straight panels, good gaps,
sweet fenders and running boards, and a beautiful bed. Speaking of
the bed, it's over the top with a stainless liner on the sides and
behind the cab, then construct a new oak bed with stainless
dividers, and varnish with 5 coats to make the wood shine like the
stainless. Original style bumpers curve around the front and rear.
American racing wheels, and oversize tires ground the car and add
some bling.
Interior
A two-tone red cloth insert and white vinyl bolster bench seat
stretches from mohair to mohair covered door panels. Inserted into
the panels is a white vinyl patch that is a custom shape, and it
houses the armrest, power window toggles, and the door handle. Red
carpet fills the floor, and in the center is a white leather booted
gearshift. A matching body color dash in full metal jacket,
supports the VDO gauge cluster, which is inserted into a machined
aluminum long centered oval. A rally steering wheel on an
adjustable column fronts the beautiful dash. The remainder of the
cabin is covered in mohair. On the headliner one can see a small
shelf, covered in mohair, which holds the AM/FM/CD player.
Drivetrain
The Chevrolet 350ci power plant topped by an Edelbrock manifold and
carburetor, is bolted to a 3-speed automatic transmission.
Undercarriage
Attention to detail is what makes or breaks these cars here at
Classic Auto Mall, and this one is a make. Using the exterior
color, all suspension, frame, floorpans, driveshaft hump and any
other significant parts are painted. This adds a very attractive
look to the underside, and highlights the wood from the bed, which
can be seen underneath as well. As I said.... a make.
Older restoration/rodding, which is very tastefully done, and
remains timeless. A head turner, this truck can be used as a
hauler, as well have a secret life as a mauler!
