For Sale: 1974 Triumph TR6 in Seekonk, Massachusetts

Vehicle Description

This 1974 Triumph TR6 has been beautifully restored and is matching numbers.  The Triumph TR6 is a sports car built by British Triumph Motor Company between 1968-1976.  The first Triumph TR6 rolled off the production line in 1968 as a 1969 model.  The TR6 was squared off at both ends making it stand out from its competitors.  It was offered as a convertible only with a factory steel hard top available optionally.  The iconic look of the TR6 was completed by very distinctive 15-inch wheels and tires.   Inside a wooden dashboard housed a full compartment of instrumentation.  The bucket seats sat on pile-carpeted floors and the luggage compartment was fairly roomy for a two-seat sports car.  The 2.5 liter six-cylinder engine accelerated the car from 0-60 mph in just 8.2 seconds with a top speed of 120 mph.  The body was bolted onto the frame which featured a front anti-roll bar, rack and pinion steering and semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension.  Disc brakes were fitted at the front with drum brakes at the rear.  The TR6 grew to become a true British classic sports car.  This TR6 was a product of a complete rotisserie restoration and is in show quality condition throughout.  The restoration was completed in 2017 and has been driven less than 1000 miles since completion.  This car was restored to a much higher level than most TR6’s.  It was in very good original condition prior to the restoration.  It was completely disassembled and bead-blasted.  All of the sheet metal is original with the exception of the driver floor section and lower grill panel due to minor rust pin holes.  The body was professionally worked and painted.  The car was painted in its original color of white (code #19).  The body is very straight and the paint is beautiful.  It sports a new black convertible top and sits on four new Cooker Classic Redline 185 R15 tires.  The convertible top has been stored down so it’s wrinkled.  Everything on the exterior with the exception of the bumpers was restored or replaced such as the glass, wipers, trim, lights, emblems, luggage rack, etc.  The bumpers are original and do show signs of age.  The interior was completely restored in the original color of chestnut (code #63).  The color combination of this car is stunning.  Everything in the interior has been restored or replaced such as the dash, gauges, steering wheel, door panels, seats, seat belts, carpet, etc.  It’s equipped with a Pyle AM-FM radio and Sony speakers.  The trunk compartment was beautifully restored.  It has a full size spare tire but no tools.  The painted engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout.  Its home to the matching numbers 2.5 liter 6 cylinder that runs great.  The engine was gone through but did not need to be rebuilt.  The carburetors were rebuilt by Paltech Technologies.  The points were upgraded to a distributor for better reliability.  Everything in the engine compartment was restored or replaced.  The engine is coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly.  The clutch, pressure plate and bearings were replaced.  The undercarriage was painted the body color and is nicely detailed.  This is a mirror quality undercarriage.  Everything underneath was restored or replaced such as the exhaust, steering components, braking components, suspension components and fuel tank.  This TR6 is a beautiful car that will make the new owner proud.  This car has recently been serviced and detailed which is documented on an invoice that is included.
