Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando Florida is proud to offer this
stunning 1923 Ford Model T Depot Hack. The Model T "Depot Hack"
first originated at the turn of the century taking people from
train stations to their hotel instead of a horse and buggy. The
Ford Motor Company sold chassis to outside vendors so that they
could build their own wood body and called it a depot hack. This
Model T has a clean title and has a 1923 chassis and engine. The
wood body is made from maple and birch marine grade plywood with 10
coats of clear coat. This car is depicting the "Brass" era of 1912,
so it is sometimes called a 1912 Model T because of the body parts
from that year like the correct fenders, running boards, splash
aprons, brass windshield, headlights, aluminum hood, wood fire
wall, and the most impressive site is the brass radiator. The 1912
Model year did not have doors like other cars did later during the
progression of the Model T. The standard 20 horse-power engine has
new pistons and rings and runs on battery or magneto, most of the
time it runs on a 12V battery for parades and car shows. The black
paint is a one stage urethane paint from PPG. A new magneto coil
was installed at the same time as the reassembling of the engine.
The rear end was also dissembled cleaned and reassembled with good
parts. The wood wheels are in good shape and the tires are in fair
condition. This vehicle is an eye catcher and will fit in any
standard garage. The headlights have a 12-volt light bulb in them
and the side lamps and rear tail light use lamp oil. Due to safety
and having less weight the windshield is Lexan not glass. The seats
are made of high-quality black vinyl with firm foam underneath.
This car can definitely be used for promotional events, parades,
car shows or Sunday afternoon drives, the third-row bench seat is
removable if needed, there are no bolts or screws that need to be
removed. Model T's are always known for needing small adjustments
on occasion in order to keep it in tip top running condition. As
the new owner creates a bond with this great car there are probably
a few small things that could be done to it in order to make it a
little more fun and enjoyable. This 1923 Ford Model T Depot Hack is
