Vehicle Description
This 1959 Dodge town wagon is a highly modified truck nicknamed,
"Double Ugly," and was featured in Street Trucks Magazine starting
in November 2000 until 2003. The truck was shown being restored
through the different processes; from frame and body to electrical
and gauges. Editor Steve Stillwell orchestrated the project and the
truck was purchased by William "Bill" Lee, who also assisted in the
build. It is powered by a new 440/470hp 8-cylinder ATK engine mated
to a high-performance 727 Art Car TorqueFlite automatic
transmission. It features a Mustang II independent front
suspension, 4-bar 9" narrowed rear suspension with 3:25
posi-traction, Baer brakes, Air Lift airbag system, custom air
cleaner, Griffen radiator, custom headers, exhaust and large
U-joints. The custom-painted exterior features custom pinstriping,
a drop bumper and Edelbrock aluminum heads, intake and carburetor.
The interior is equipped with a flamed dash, overhead interior
panels, a Mercedes sunroof, power windows, 800-watt stereo and a
middle console. This Dodge rides on 19" front and 20" rear Boyd
wheels.
