Vehicle Description
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe
The first-generation Chevrolet Camaro appeared in Chevrolet
dealerships in September 1966 for the 1967 model year on a
brand-new rear-wheel drive GM F-body platform and was available as
a 2-door, 2+2 seat, hardtop (no "B" or center pillar) or
convertible, with the choice of either a straight-six or V8 engine.
The first-generation Camaro was built through the 1969 model
year.
This fully restored and upgraded power plant 1969 version is as
beautiful as it is powerful. A truly shining example shows that if
an individual's heart and soul is motivated by a goal, major
accomplishments can be achieved. A virtually new '69 Bowtie pony
car that will knock your socks off visually and physically!
Exterior
The recipient of a car taken apart including all body panels, and
those that were too much work or required too much skim coat, were
replaced with all original GM metal. This was all taken to bare
metal, epoxy primed given a Dupont Base Coat/clear coat. All
marker/fog lights were replaced, all new body mounts and bushings,
door hinges, locks, chrome bumpers and brite work. Rally wheel
centers, and trim rings give the iconic Camaro look.
Interior
All new upholstery, carpeting, refurbished dash, headliner, all
showroom. Aftermarket gauge cluster hangs from bottom center of
dash, and then you can just say showroom (not necessarily original,
but practical upgraded and updated)
Drivetrain
406ci small block Chevrolet which produces approximately 500 (yes
500) hp. Just some of the documented machine work done at RPM
Machine, of Bay City Michigan. Bored .30 over, crank polished, 350
rods penned, forged TRW pistons, rotating assembly balanced,
Perfect Circle rings, main rod and cam bearings installed, ARP
bolts...take a deep breath!....AFR aluminum 195 heads 2.02 in take,
1.60 exhaust valves, Scorpion roller rockers 1.6 ratio rockers,
Polished wire looms, Edelbrock Performer RPM dual plane manifold
Mighty Demon 750 Carb and fuel log, compression ratio 10.1:1,
Hooker Ceramic headers 2.5 stainless exhaust flow master mufflers,
2.5" tailpipes ..OH YEAH!
Undercarriage
Muncie M21 transmission with new synchronizers keys, and keepers,
new roller and needle bearings 12 bolt posi traction rear with all
new bearings, and 3.73 gears, stainless steel brake lines, and new
brakes.
Obviously way more money spent than will be gotten back, but
consigner states he likes perfection, and is always looking for new
ways to upgrade. In fact, there is a list with a new wave of
updates including a carb rebuild, engine pulling and reseal, new
Moroso spark plug wires and chrome a few parts just for good luck.
Absolutely one of the finest original looking '69 Camaro's in the
country.
