Vehicle Description
1999 Pontiac Trans Am
The Pontiac Trans Am series has had a notable legacy of exclusivity
since its inception, and this 30th Anniversary Edition from 1999 is
certainly befitting of that reputation. This beautiful car is an
Arctic White WS6 convertible augmented by premium 30th Anniversary
trim and features not offered on other Pontiac vehicles at the
time. Built in a small quantity for this occasion this version is
one of only 535 Trans Am 30th Anniversary convertibles ever
created.
For Consignment #025 of 535 Trans Am Convertibles created. This "R"
Titled car has been restored, however at this time it is unknown
why it was an R title.
Exterior
Arctic White covers this car and is a respray. Correct and pristine
badging all around, and rally wheels are attached on all 4 corners.
The black convertible top is good condition and works flawlessly.
An airbrushed "Screaming Chicken" is noted on the front plate area,
as well as a white one emblazoned on the rear between the rounded
taillights. Hidden headlights nestle between a curvaceous multi
vented hood, and they function normally.
Interior
Light gray leather covers the two front buckets as well as the rear
2+2 bench, and steering wheel as well as gearshift. Leather is soft
and supple, shows some folds however no major cracks on the
undulating beautifully designed seats. These are power seats with 6
way on the driver's side and 4 way on the passenger. A swooping
center console is flanked by the buckets and makes its way to the
dash while including a glove box/armrest, cup holder, gearshift,
and anniversary badging. The optional instrument
panel upgrade is seen with the normal cluster. Nice matching gray
carpeted mats with electric blue screaming chicken logos are on the
floors.
Drivetrain
A pop of the hood reveals a little bling to see before we get to
the mill, that being the interior of the hood has been lined with
blue smoked mirrors. Just a little distraction before we dig into a
5.7 Liter LS1 V8 looking great with its blue covers with white
painted Trans Am badging. A 4L60E automatic transmission with
overdrive is seen bolted on back.
Undercarriage
Virtually no sign of any rust, surface or otherwise. A 3.23
posi-traction rear, 4-wheel power disc brakes, and a traction
control system are noted.
Overall a very nice example of the 30th Anniversary edition of the
Trans Am. This particular car is sans blue stripes which is usually
typical for this model. They may have gone by the wayside in the
respray. Either way, you now have a wolf in sheeps clothing, ready
to take on the competition who will be laughing at you only until
you hit the accelerator!
