Vehicle Description
West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional
and beautiful example of this stylishly customized with no expense
spared all American classic muscle car - an original southern
California 'Black License Plate' 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400/330HP 4
BBL V8 Coupe with it's original matching #'s 'YT' code 400/330HP
4BBL V8 Long Block engine which was matched originally to a Turbo
Hydra-Matic 400 three speed automatic transmission but which was
converted to a 4 speed M-22 Muncie manual transmission with a
'Hurst V Gate 2' Shifter and with the 400c.i. engine stroked to a
standard 455c.i., which dyno tested at 486HP at 5300 RPM with 511
ft-lb torque at 4300 RPM and a car which was originally sold at
'Haskell Pontiac' of Los Angeles, CA on 5/11/1969 and still boasts
it's original 'Haskell Pontiac' dealership license frames and with
reportedly only two southern California owners since new; a fully
loaded model in it's day with the following original rare factory
options including;Firebird 400 Package ($347)Turbo Hydra-Matic

Pontiac's slightly more upmarket version of the Chevrolet Camaro
and the models were given a restyling in 1969 for their third
season in the marketplace. A new RPO (regular production option)
was quietly slipped into the lineup during midyear, the Trans Am, a
new high performance option roughly equivalent to the GTO in the
LeMans lineup. Power came from a 400 4 BBL V8 with 330HP and in the
Ram Air III with 335HP 430 lbs torque at 3400 rpm (634 cars, coupes
amp; convertibles) or Ram Air IV with 345HP 430 lbs torque at 3700
rpm (55 cars, all coupes) versions. Either way well over 350HP was
available in a car that weighed just over 3,000 pounds! That
provided for some literally amazing performance in a pony car and
these models were extremely limited in production. This particular
example has had only two southern California owners since new and
boasts a copy of it's original window sticker confirming all it's
original options and a car which has been beautifully and
professionally restored and customized by only it's second owner in
its original 'Carousel Red' (Paint Code 72) factory color and its
original 'Black' Custom Knit Vinyl Weave (Trim code 218) interior
and a car which has obviously always been been well maintained and
kept since new! This car must be seen and indeed driven to be fully
appreciated. The matching #'s rebuilt 'YT' code 400/330HP 4 Barrel
V8 engine has been stroked to a standard 455 with approximately
486HP and the car has the following custom upgrades:Original YT
