This is a rare opportunity to acquire an incredibly well spec'd
example of the Mercedes 250CE coupe with the electric sunroof and
5-Speed manual transmission. This fine example became part of the
Philip Lutfy, MD Mercedes collection in 2014, and doesn't
disappoint. His cars are known to be the very best and this is a
stunning example. This is an original Euro delivery car that has
been extensively documented in the Mercedes publication "Star". It
is in nearly perfect condition for its age and low mileage of about
64,000 (105k km). We love the rare 5-speed ZF manual transmission
that makes it perform well with lots of power as well as being
geared for highway use. The five speed cars were not imported into
the US, therefor this is incredibly rare. And the performance is
further enhanced by it's Electronic Fuel injection (EFI), a
significant improvement from the prior mechanical system. The
livery is moss green metallic and at one point in its history it
received a very high quality repaint in the original colors. The
ivory MB tex interior is stunning. And with the electric sunroof
open and the electric door windows and rear windows down this looks
and feels like a convertible, but sportier looking! The optional
ivory steering wheel is nearly as new, with no cracks or issues.
The Becker Grand Prix radio enhances the driving experience. The
undercarriage is all original and unrestored, showing no rust as it
received the factory undercoating when new. Did you see the very
cool comprehensive first aid kit placed in the shelf under the
passenger footwell? This is another rare accessory. Although this
motorcar has been in Dr. Lutfy's collection for many years, it was
previously owned for over 30 years by Car & Drive and Motor Trend
writer Kyle Given. It was imported into the US from Germany when it
was just a few years old. And has traveled about 6k miles in the
past 35 years, being pampered as a show car by the previous owners.
Mr. Given showed the 250 at Meadowbrook Hall a couple times, as
well as other concours events. Mechanically, this is excellent. It
starts well with its original fuel injection, power steering and
the four wheel disc brakes perform as it should. All maintenance
has been performed to the standards of the collection and it is
ready for its next tour, or perhaps as a daily driving classic. The
file history from 1990 until 2010 shows an impressive investment to
maintain this to the highest standards. All records, articles,
manuals, tools, etc come with the car. The spare tire is the
original from new, and looks nearly new! The seller has an
appraisal dated July 2015 from Rick McLash of American Automotive
Appraisals for stating a valuation range of $45,000 to $50,000.
This appraisal will be included with the documents for the
motorcar. This is likely about as close as you can get to a new
250CE from 1969! If you are looking for the best, contact Harry

But don't wait, we only have one and this won't last. The 250 is in
Phoenix, AZ and is available for inspection.
