making it the third lowest production total in the history of the
famed sports car. This striking convertible looks fantastic being
one of only 532 1956 Corvettes built in elegant Polo White and is
complimented by the sharp red interior in like-new condition. Power
is compliments of the 265 cubic-inch V8 topped with dual
four-barrel carburetors producing a stout 225 horsepower and
transferred to the pavement via the 2-speed Powerglide automatic
transmission. A unique option on this Corvette is the
electronically controlled convertible top. Unlike the 1953-1955
Corvette roadsters, which had an optional top that could be
attached to the car, this convertible top was an integral part of
the design, allowing the 1956 Corvette to be identified as a true
convertible. An extensive frame-off restoration was done at some
point and completed to the highest standards of Corvette
restoration, using mostly original and new-old-stock parts. The
paint on this car is in great condition as well as all the chrome,
stainless moldings and glass. The chassis, suspension, braking, and
drivetrain systems have all passed an intensive and thorough
