Take a look at this BEAUTIFUL !! - EXTREMELY RARE !! - RESTORED !! - 1972 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible !! It is EXTREMELY RARE as only 1,929 Cougar XR7 Convertibles were built in 1972 !! We recently purchased this Cougar from the previous Washington State owner and as you can tell in the pictures and video it was his pride and joy for sure !! It still retains it's correctly mounted FACTORY ORIGINAL - dash mounted Mercury VIN tag and it's - FACTORY ORIGINAL - driver's door mounted Mercury data sticker, both of which are shown in several pictures. This is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - Washington State - Idaho - High Mountain Desert western car and it shows !! I drove this Cougar for the last several weeks as my daily driver and I assure you it runs and drives VERY WELL !! It is a sweet driver in town and cruises down the freeway easily and smoothly. At the heart of this Cougar is what appears to be the VERY STRONG !! - FACTORY ORIGINAL !! - Code "H" -351 CID - "Cleveland" - V8 motor that is running VERY well. The motor also sports an Edelbrock Performance aluminum 4 barrel intake manifold, ORIGINAL exhaust manifolds, Chrome valve covers, Chrome air cleaner housing and a Holley Performance 4 barrel carburetor with electric choke. Sounds GREAT too with the factory style true dual exhaust system with dual chrome tips. The engine is backed by a SMOOTH !! - FACTORY ORIGINAL !! - Three speed - "FMX" - automatic transmission that also functions very well!! The BEAUTIFUL !! - Code "DA" - Black Leather full bucket seat Cougar XR7 optioned interior is in VERY NICE condition including VERY NICE NEW Black Leather full front bucket seats, VERY NICE NEW Black carpeting, good ORIGINAL Matching Black Vinyl door panels, Good ORIGINAL Cougar steering wheel, NICE ORIGINAL Factory gauge clusters, NICE ORIGINAL Faux' Wood Grain dash, NICE Black Leather rear seat, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Black Vinyl sun visors, good ORIGINAL Black center console and a VERY NICE NEW Black dash pad cover. The suspension and drive line seem to be in good working order as well as the electrical system. Check out the AWESOME - 14 inch GT wheels wrapped in BRAND NEW whitewall steel belted radials, they look OUTSTANDING on this Cougar !! All of the ORIGINAL Chrome and Stainless Steel exterior body trim and moldings are in NICE condition including VERY NICE ORIGINAL Badging, Good ORIGINAL Chrome Front and Rear bumpers and NICE ORIGINAL grill. The CLEAN - SOLID trunk also sports a black carpet liner and full size radial spare tire. All of the ORIGINAL light lenses and reflectors are also clear, bright and BEAUTIFUL !!
