The BMW 7-Series has a long history of being a roomy, solid, sleek,
and comfortable ride; the choice of the successful since its
inception! The third generation 7-Series was built from 1994-2001
and retained classic 1990s BMW styling the whole way through. This
particular example is a 740iL, which is the long-wheelbase version
and essentially a small limo.
When sitting behind the wheel of this BMW, it is easy to understand
why this would have been a logical choice for someone with the
funds to afford it. Even if not being chauffeured, this car was the
ideal candidate for someone in search of a practical, comfortable,
no-frills (but still fancy) vehicle to match their personality. The
ignition cylinder turns smoothly; there is no doubt when you have
the car in the accessory position. Though currently not functional,
the original BMW car phone still sits proudly atop the center
console. The back seat has an enormous amount of legroom, and foot
props that can be easily stowed under the front seats. Aside from
some minor wear and sun damage, the interior is intact and with a
little love could once again be truly classy.
With just under 80,000 actual miles, this is one of the lowest
mileage examples currently available for sale. It would be tough to
find one under 100,000 miles! This car is in overall excellent
condition for the age and is a rust-free Florida vehicle. Thanks to
the Florida climate, the body has been preserved but some of the
plastic is showing its age as well as the clear coat around the
trunk. Nonetheless, this is a straight example that has been
maintained and driven sparingly.
The engine of this car runs dead quiet! Once it is up to
temperature, you can hardly tell the car is running (which is
impressive for any internal combustion vehicle!). Additionally,
this BMW functions exactly as it should. Even the lighted door
handles work! If you're looking for an enormous and affordable
classy BMW, this modern classic has everything you could ask for
(and there won't be a dozen others the same in the parking lot at
work!).
