Vehicle Description
This beautiful 1972 International Scout II came out of Arizona and
is a very fine example of a Scout that looks to have all of its
original metals and floors. From Arizona it went to Illinois where
it was restored 3-4 years ago and we have a lot of receipts for the
restoration including almost $10,000 in mechanical receipts. They
did and excellent job on the restoration and this Scout still looks
amazing!
The body is extremely clean and straight, and as stated before, the
metal looks to be original. The floors are fantastic and the paint
looks so nice...very straight and shiny. All of the gaps and panels
line up really nice and they added the Rally Decals after it was
painted. We found no signs of rust on the body, floors, or frame
and only some minor surface rust on some of the underside. The
underside was painted when it was restored, but it was for cosmetic
purposes only as the undercarriage was super clean. There was no
rust in the typical Scout locations and everything was taken apart
when it was painted. They also redid the Interior when it was
restored and that includes removing the interior, gauges, dash and
adding carpet in the rear and a new rubber mat in the front. They
also added Dynomat under the front mat for a quieter ride. The
seats were reupholstered and the original rear plastics are all
there.
This Scout not only shines cosmetically, but also mechanically. It
has a completely rebuilt 345 V8 that was done right (have receipt)
and it runs excellent. Everything on the engine was rebuilt or
replaced including all accessories, ignition system, and carb. They
added nice dual exhaust and it sounds great (see video).
Transmission is a rebuilt 727 Automatic Transmission (have receipt)
and Transfer Case is a Dana 20 also rebuilt (have receipt). All new
U joints, Ball Joints, Brakes. It does have Power Steering and
Power Brakes. Both axles were also gone through and they added a 2
1/2 inch Spring Lift. It has factory Sway Bars front and rear and a
new set of 31 Inch BFG All Terrains.
Overall this is a gorgeous Scout that runs and drives fantastic!
