Vehicle Description
1965 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Coupe
A clone is when you take a standard, base model car and add options
and equipment to make it into a copy of a rare, original muscle car
using the same options such as trim, decals, hood scoops, and motor
that the higher optioned cars had originally from the factory. In
some cases, the cars look exactly like their muscle car replicas,
but are less valuable because they are not authentic. Clones are a
great way to own their more expensive counterparts and there is
nothing wrong with making a clone.
This 65 Chevelle Custom Clone is a 1965 body and chassis with
virtually all new parts, upgraded engine, new paint, and various
other conveniences added on. Absolutely a beautiful car that is
very reliable, and mechanically sound. Let's call it a major
facelift! Or maybe a rest-o-mod?
Exterior
Charcoal Gray Metallic perfectly covers the laser straight panels
of this car. All new bumpers, grille, lights and Ridler 5 spoke
rims complete the look for this beautiful car. Badging is pristine
and all correct on this virtually new car from 1965.
Interior
Swing open the doors and find yourself in a world of new black
vinyl seating meaning buckets in the front, and a bench in the
rear, showroom new but custom built. Right down to the chrome trim
running vertically on the back corners of the front seats, things
are looking really nice. New carpet floods the floor, and it is
magnificent as to its condition. Seen fronting the buckets let your
eyes take in the Classic Thunder road dash, peppered with Autometer
gauges, you'll know the exact status while you are tearing down the
road. If its road noise you like to dampen, switch on the custom
sound system, which can stream your favorite tunes through
Bluetooth, boosting the quality with a high efficiency 400 Watt
4-channel amplifier, and full range speakers throughout the front
and back. Looking through the tinted glass is a bit like looking at
the world through rose colored glasses, only you are looking at the
real thing.
Drivetrain
383ci Stroker puts out 400hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. A cast iron
block mates with fast burn aluminum heads. Hypereutectic pistons
forged from aluminum and machined to very close tolerances, are
moved by connecting rods created from heavy duty PM steel. To
reduce weight an aluminum alternator, and aluminum intake are
installed. Atop is a Holley 750 double pumper carburetor. Attached
to the back of this engine is a modified Turbo 350 transmission
actuated by a B&M Quicksilver automatic shifter.
Undercarriage
A peek underneath, and you will need sunglasses due to the ultra
shine that is there. An oversized radiator can be seen with an
attached electric fan. A new power steering pump, and new disc
brakes have been added. New Bilstein shocks are noted, as well as
the gorgeous headers and piping for the entirely new free flow
exhaust system. A rebuilt posi rear with 3.73:1 gearing has been
used in this rebuild.
If you dream of a 1965 classic Malibu that you can get in, turn the
key, and have instant enjoyment without the worry and constant
wrenching you will have with an original, the tinkering, searching
for parts, and the frustration of yet another mechanical problem,
your answer is here with this wonderfully constructed clone. Turn
the key!
