From the historian

"

This is a great find and makes the 1665th Unknown known (that is we knew the car was made but have lost track until your reply)

Anyway here are the historical details of Chassis no: 101184; engine no: 97058; body no: 737 – 1924. It was ordered on the 26 April 1962 through Daimler Cars Inc Baltimore for onward sale by British Motor Cars in San Francisco. Its reference no: 10/927/416. It was painted Ivory (an off white colour) with red leather interior with the seats and door car pockets pipes in Ivory. It was fitted up as follows:- heater & de-mister; leather covered steering wheel fitted to an adjustable steering column; chrome plated exhaust pipe finishers (no doubt long gone by now – LCJ) cigarette lighter; hard, soft tops and a tonneau cover; front & rear full width bumpers; painted wire wheels and  with seat belt points, the seat belts being fitted in the USA. It was made ready for shipping on the 7 July 1962.

Does the car have a license plate/Back plate ? or from any old paperwork do you know of any?

As an side chassis no: 101183 also sold through British Motors in San F was identical and shipped out at the same time, as to went their arrived in the USA I do not know, perhaps towards end of July early Augsut of 1962

I do thank you for your response , it helps to ascertain as how many SP have survived out of the total of 2654 chassis built, we get closer to our target of 2000.

With kind regards
