Vehicle Description
This 1970 International Scout 800 SR2 is a very clean and solid
Scout that came from the State of Wyoming. Most of the SR2 Scouts
in 1970 were orange, but they did paint around 500 of them at the
factory Burnished Gold like this one is. This was a Promotional
Scout and they built around 1975 Total. These numbers are based on
what we found out about this model on the Internet.
The body on this Scout is amazingly clean. You probably know Scouts
were known to rust, so to find one like this is pretty special.
This truck has no cancer at all on the body and the underside is
very clean with only some surface rust. (Original Underside that
has never been painted). The body panels are all super straight and
line up well. Doors are solid and shut well. It was recently
repainted in the last few years in the original color and it was
done very nice. The interior is pretty original with the exception
of the seats being recovered. It looks to even have the original
floor mat that is in excellent condition as well as the original
dash pad.
The drivetrain is in great condition and the miles are believed to
be original, but we do not have paperwork to back that up. The
engine is the original 304 V8 which looks to be rebuilt based on
the heat tab on the engine. The transmission is the Borg warner
Automatic. This truck runs and drives great and the engine is
quiet, no smoke, and holds excellent oil pressure. This is a great
example of an unmolested and original Scout that someone can drive
and enjoy as they continue to climb in value. We found all lights,
blinkers, gauges working. The horn needs to be looked at. We hand
pick each vehicle, drive it, inspect it, and make sure it is ready
for you to enjoy! We drive what we sell so that we can give you a
first hand and accurate report on how the vehicle runs and
drives.
