Vehicle Description
This well-documented Corvette was a Chevrolet Engineering car from
1967 to 1973. Originally ordered by and delivered to CEC, it was
tagged when new for the eventual head of GM Styling. It has had
single-family ownership from its purchase by a GM employee in 1973.
It was special-ordered with many factory options, including
quadruple blue colors comprising of Lynndale Blue paint, matching
auxiliary hardtop, dark blue vinyl upholstery and a blue
convertible top. Other regular production options include an L68
427ci V8 engine with Tri-Power added, Powerglide automatic
transmission, transistorized ignition, posi-traction rear axle,
AM/FM radio, tinted glass, power windows, power brakes and power
steering. The Corvette was ordered through GM Zone 0, Dealer code
502, confirming it was built for, and billed to, the CEC in Warren,
MI. Further confirmation is provided by the original CEC oval
parking-lot sticker affixed to its windshield, with "12E53 CEC"
denoting a parking assignment at the CEC for mid-level management.
The "TAG CHEV ENG CTR RYBICK" notation found at the end of the
Order Copy and Tank Sticker indicates that the Corvette was tagged
for purchase, before it was built, by a GM employee. As states on
the Corvette's car record, it was inspected and sold at 45,549
miles. The currently installed engine is a 454ci unit with
prototype, or pre-production, cylinder heads, mated to an automatic
transmission. The engine was professionally built for the owner,
whose name is on one of the heads, and the company name is stamped
on the engine pad. The car file includes original GM fleet
insurance paperwork, vehicle condition report, a Vehicle License
Audit card, original key pouch and owner's manual. This Corvette
has 74,551 original miles (mileage not indicated on the title). It
also includes its NCRS Shipping Data Report and NCRS confirmation
of original documents.
