This custom 1974 Volkswagen Thing is powered by a 220hp
fuel-injected 2.5-liter Subary Boxer engine mated to a Freeway
Flyer 4-speed manual transmission with a Kennedy Stage III clutch
and pressure plate. It's equipped with an Out Front Motorsports
tuned Stinger standalone engine management system and wiring
harness, aluminum radiator with dual aluminum fan blades,
adjustable front suspension beam, Type 1 spindles and arms, Air
Kewld air shocks in front and Slam Specialties airbags in the rear
with dual VIAIR 480C air compressors, a 7-gallon air tank, and
eight 3/8" SMC gold air valves with 4-wheel independent control.
This custom VW is also equipped with a custom tubular roof rack
with oak slats and stainless-steel hardware, custom adjustable dual
Safari windshields with laminated safety glass, custom rubbed-out
paint job, custom canvas rear tonneau cover with twist fasteners,
custom dash parcel tray with rope weave bottom, custom seat frames
with woven rope faces, seatbelts, stock VW Thing speedometer, Auto
Meter gauges, genuine Russian headlight blackout covers with HID
headlights and military LED taillights. The custom bumpers are
lightweight but made to look heavy and menacing. The body and
floorpans are in good condition and the car runs well.
