Vehicle Description
1989 Alfa Romeo Spyder
Built by the Italian automobile manufacturer Alfa Romeo from 1966
through 1994, the model comprised of four distinct evolutions
during its build cycle. The Spider was made famous as Dustin
Hoffman's sports car in the movie "The Graduate."
Offered is a 1989 Series 3 Spider in white with flawless tan and
brown interior. Initially produced in 1983, this beautiful Alfa has
had "tasteful and functional" improvements added to enhance the
performance and beauty of the original production model.
Exterior
One can tell Pininfarina had their hands in this design. Very thin
body (not tall) long front with exposed headlights, and a small
back trunk area. Dressed in white, this Graduate has been stored in
a garage environment all its life and it shows. Virtually no rust,
blemishes or even fades on the bumpers are seen on this car.
Minimal badging and brite work is adorning the car, but what is
there is near perfect. A black rear of the car with a small
matching spoiler can be seen behind the trunk area. Panasport alloy
wheels are seen all around. And are wrapped by Pirelli performance
tires. A black convertible top appears all but new and works
beautifully.
Interior
Tan vinyl adorns the buckets, steering wheel, and door panels.
Brown carpet floods the floor and is in good condition. A center
console has storage, controls, and a gearshift that is mounted
ergonomically in the vertical rising portion, as opposed to between
the seats on the floor. Gauges and dash are all working condition
and are well kept. Wood surrounds a beautiful steering wheel and
tops the gearshift.
Drivetrain
A cold air intake and Ansa exhaust boost the performance and sound
of the 2-liter double overhead cam 4-cylinder engine. An engine
that starts quickly and runs smoothly. A 5-speed manual
transmission backs the engine up, and shifts smoothly and
effortlessly.
Undercarriage
No rust, surface or otherwise is seen within miles of this
undercarriage. Barely a drip residue either is on any surface.
European springs and shocks have been added for better handling as
well as larger Panasport alloy wheels and Pirelli performance
tires.
This Alfa has always been garaged and covered since new and never
driven in rain or inclement weather. There are no gearbox synchro
issues with regard to the 5-speed transmission. The soft top and
boot cover are like new and there is absolutely no rust present
anywhere on the car. This Alfa Romeo Spider is one of the finest
you will find anywhere and draws attention everywhere it goes. It
speaks to the word cool.
