For Sale: 1936 Ford Humpback in Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

1936 Ford Humpback

The Art Deco Style was all the rage in 1936, and Ford designers seized the moment with the slant-back and humpback sedans. A road to hood V grille, teardrop headlights, split rear window, curvaceous rear lines with two tiny red oval angled taillights were the inspirations taken from the movement. The hump-back was hailed as one of the most beautiful designs of the decade.

Known as the Ford Model 48, a 5-window 2 door Tudor in a hot rod garb, and beefy engine.

Exterior
Retaining much of its original look, this shows a Tudor model with the "humpback" trunk. Spray on a slick coat of white, then add some airbrushed blue flames and a set of American Racing 5 spokes and you have a first-class Hot Rod. Paint is showing in good condition, with a few areas of slight chipping. Noted,is an uninstalled Continental Kit which comes with the car.

Interior
A swing of the door, and you are in blue heaven. Lots of dark blue carpeting in good condition flows over the floor. Two blue tweed buckets are in the front, and a 2+2 Style bench stretches across the back, but provides plenty of legroom for the extra 2. The white dash has been redone and customized to include Autometer gauges, and a few streamlined warning lights. An aftermarket AM/FM/CD player has been added in front of the passenger seat, and has speakers spread around including a sub-woofer in the trunk area. Mohair graces the door panels, as well as the headliner. Wrap it all up with a custom wood rally steering wheel, and a long automatic floor shifter, and you are in cool blue land.

Drivetrain
A blue and chromed 355ci V8 resides in a white engine bay. Some engraved flames on chromed valve covers, and air cleaner top as well as braided stainless hoses all around give a beautiful complimentary shine to this mill. A TH350 Transmission is attached to the back.

Undercarriage
A clean undercoat free environment shows very little rust, and if it is present, it all surface rust. An upgrade to vented disc brakes in front, and drums in the rear all with new brake lines attached. A gleaming driveshaft and upgraded rear suspension will allow handling to be precise.

A fully restored turn the key hot rod in the form of a Ford Model 48. What more could you ask for?
