The Jeep CJ5 is an iconic short-wheel base, go-anywhere 4x4! But
just because it can get you deep into the wild, doesn't mean it
shouldn't look nice out on the town also. That's why the new Yellow
and Black radiates no matter if the sunlight finds it at the
campsite or the corner market. Don't let the shiny paint job of
this Jeep fool you though, it has been frame off restored to be a
upgraded version of its factory condition. One of our favorite
parts is the amount of work the owner has taken to power coat MANY
parts of this thing to keep it looking good while still rugged.
Climbing into the new 3R-Racing seats you'll notice they are just
as comfortable as they look. Surrounding the seats is a collection
of correct Jeep parts complete with a roll bar The bikini top also
coordinates in black for a terrific total look. The correct
Stock/Upgraded look continues under the hood with the reinforced
aluminum valve cover and air cleaner radiating from within the
engine bay. But more than just for looks, the 258 cubic-inch
inline-six motor is a long established power plant for Jeep and
this one runs like a top! It has proven its reliability, and it
continues to have easy parts availability. Torquey and robust, this
is the engine you want pulling through daily traffic or the worst
slop Mother Nature can throw at you. And the stainless header that
feeds the exhaust upgrades the motor's soundtrack nicely. The
four-speed manual transmission gives you full control as it feeds
the two-speed transfer case and seriously beefy Dana 44's at both
ends. 3:73 gears and low range give it rock-crawling stability, but
thanks to the modern BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires and front disc
brakes, it's comfortable in the urban scene, too. This Jeep has
been meticulously restored and needs to be seen in person to be
truly appreciated. Since the build has been completed it has NOT
been taken off-road but with that being said it is ready to tackle
any adventure you can throw at it. You can view this 1981 Jeep CJ5
