After sitting in a museum for 40 years this 1922 "center door"
Model T is going up for sale! Featured in the Forney Museum of
Transportation a large portion of its life, this Model T has been
well kept and still runs and drives very nicely. The original
equipment for this Model T was an inline four-cylinder engine
producing a humbling 22 horsepower stock. The two-speed rear end
allows you to change between high and low gears and had a top speed
of around 40 MPH. Henry Ford said you could have your Model T in
any color as long as it is black so fittingly the steel body has
been coated in a correct black paint and looks great! Before
setting off on your drive in this Model T, you will need to go
under the hood to open the fuel valve and let gravity pull the fuel
down from the gas tank under the driver's seat. Open the door and
climb up into the cab where you will feel as if you are getting
into the back seat and maneuver yourself into the front seat. Below
you will notice your three pedals and a simple key in the middle,
but don't be fooled, this is not like any car you have driven
before. Your brake pedal is on the far right, middle pedal is
reverse, and far left is your gear selector. To start this Model T
first advance your timing by bringing the lever on the left side of
the steering wheel down a quarter of the way, then throttle down on
the right side a similar amount, turn the key to the left, pull out
the choke, and tap the starter on the floor. The four cylinder will
fire right up and come to life like a car straight out of an old
cartoon. The ride is unlike anything else as well with a high
riding position and surrounded by glass you will feel as if you
stepped way back in time. This center door Model T has been kept in
excellent condition and would be a great option for someone looking
to get an antique car to put around in on the weekends or just to
have a piece of American history within their collection. This
vehicle is located in our Denver showroom. You can view this 1922
