Vehicle Description
This 1932 Hudson Indy Car re-creation was inspired by the one-off
Hudson Special raced by Al Miller and mechanic Howard Creith at the
1932 Indianapolis 500. This car was professionally built from the
ground up by a father and son team over a 14-year period. Virtually
every part of this car was built from scratch, using period photos
and information. The frame was custom-made and utilizes a modified
Hudson front suspension with a Ford 9" rear end. The body was
hand-formed from aluminum and finished to a concours-quality
standard, down to period-correct Hudson Special livery on the cowl.
The engine has been bored and stroked to 254ci and features a host
of special upgrades for racing, including a dry-sump oiling system
with cooler, alternator and four single-barrel Weber carburetors. A
special camshaft was designed by Isky Cams and personally ground by
Ed Iskenderian. The exhaust is a custom eight-into-one pipe in
stainless-steel. The transmission is a 3-speed manual gearbox. The
racer is authentically equipped with a central gear lever and an
outside brake handle. This car has been built to drive and has been
proven on the racetrack. It raced on the track at the 2014 Millers
at Milwaukee Mile Speedway. **SOLD ON BILL OF SALE**
