Vehicle Description
This 1966 Shelby GT350-H has undergone a complete restoration where
everything on the car was reproduced or restored to new condition.
The 289ci engine under the hood was rebuilt to 306hp specifications
and all of the correct Shelby components were reinstalled. The
engine wears Ford Blue paint along with a proper Shelby-spec
high-rise intake and Autolite 4-barrel carburetor. Reproduction
hoses, clamps and a new wiring harness were installed. Underneath
is the standard Hertz-issued C4 3-speed automatic transmission, as
well as a 9" rear. Restoration photos show the body shell painted
in correct red oxide primer, and the floors show correct black
overspray. A set of Magnum 500 wheels wear Goodyear Blue Streak
tires. The interior of this GT350-H has been fully restored to
stock specifications with all of the standard Shelby goodies,
including a wood-rimmed steering wheel and a comprehensive set of
rebuilt gauges with a dash-mounted tachometer. The entire interior
is new. This restoration produced a laser-straight body with all
lines and gaps well-aligned. It comes with the original invoice
from Shelby American Inc. to Hertz Corporation, via Larsen Ford,
dated May 10, 1966. The invoice also shows that Hertz paid Shelby a
total of $3,820.75 for the car on August 19, 1966. Shipping records
from Shelby to Larsen Ford and Hertz are included, as well as a
warranty repair invoice, all three owner's manuals, photo of the
OEM Ford VIN stamping on each side of the body, photo of the
original Shelby stamping, photo of the engine block casting numbers
and date code, as well as the photos documenting the extensive
restoration.
