Vehicle Description
The Shelby Series 1 is the only car ever designed and engineered by
Carroll Shelby from a clean sheet of paper and built from the
ground up. This hand-built, limited-production sports car is #219
of 249 produced. A naturally aspirated Oldsmobile 4.0-liter V8
engine is set back in the chassis in a mid-front mount
configuration for optimal 50/50 balance. With dual overhead
camshafts, sequential fuel injection and high-flow dual exhaust,
the Oldsmobile V8 produces 320hp and 290 ft/lbs of torque. The
engine is mated to a ZF 6-speed manual transmission. The chassis is
comprised of an aluminum frame with a race-derived double wishbone
independent suspension. This car will do 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and
its top speed is 170 mph. The carbon-fiber and fiberglass-composite
body is painted silver with the stripe delete package. The
Cobra-style aluminum pop-up fuel filler cap creates an attractive
race car detail. The interior is comprised of leather bolstered
seats with power-adjusted sport controls. Much of the interior
components came from General Motors, including the premium Monsoon
sound system. Power windows and locks, along with air conditioning,
provide comfort and convenience. Power steering and 4-wheel power
disc brakes deliver confident road control. This car comes complete
with its original Window Sticker, owner's manual from Shelby
American and limited-edition leather embroidered jacket designed by
Jeff Hamilton. This car is completely original, except for the
battery, and has 544 actual miles.
