Vehicle Description
This matching-numbers 1954 Cadillac Series 62 convertible comes
finished in its original shade of Apollo Gold with contrasting
original Mint Green and cream handcrafted leather interior. The
seat frames have been powder-coated, with the tops of the seats
double-sprung. All of the door and trunk interior cardboard backing
was replaced with aluminum for straightness and stability. The
convertible top was originally black but was replaced with dark
green, one of four top color options for 1954. Approximately 650
hours were spent restoring the interior, top and trunk, and a total
of approximately 6,000 hours were spent on the restoration as a
whole over a 15-year period, beginning in 2001 and ending in 2016.
The convertible has been driven 75 test miles since completion. The
engine, transmission, power options, top hydraulics and gauges are
all new or rebuilt and are correct. The center ring in the steering
wheel is original. This Cadillac had all-new glass installed, which
is properly scripted, as well as a new stainless-steel exhaust
system, including mufflers, resonators and bumper tip extensions.
It has two rebuilt under-dash heater cores, laser-straight panels,
and an engine bay detail was done. It comes equipped with the
original spare tire, hubcap and red hold-down spring on the jack
handle. It is powered by its original 331ci V8 engine producing
230hp at 4,400 rpm, mated to an automatic transmission. This car
was purchased new from Swisher Cadillac of Mansfield, OH, by the
owner of the Yellow Cab Company in Mansfield, who wanted a Cadillac
convertible that matched the color of his cabs. All four owners of
this vehicle were from Mansfield, and it has been in the care of
its current owner since 1994. This turnkey Cadillac comes with a
California car cover.
