Vehicle Description
The Series 1 was designed, engineered and built from the ground up
by Carroll Shelby. A luxury sports car roadster, this example is
#123 of 249 manufactured at the Shelby factory in Nevada in 1999.
The engine is derived from the aluminum Aurora Northstar V8 used by
the Indy racing league in the early 2000s. It is a DOHC 4.0-liter,
sequential fuel-injected, aluminum block and aluminum-headed V8
located in the aft of the front inboard suspension and is coupled
to a ZF 6-speed manual transmission. The frame is high-strength
extruded T6 aluminum with an all carbon-fiber body. This low weight
mid-engine design produces a car weighing a just 2,650lbs with a
50/50 weight distribution. The brakes are huge power-assisted discs
at all four corners with power rack & pinion steering. It features
an all stainless-steel exhaust system built by Borla to Shelby's
specs. This performance car does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and has a top
speed of 186 mph. It's also equipped with a hideaway convertible
soft-top, leather seats with the Shelby logo, factory air, tilt
steering wheel, power windows and an AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo. The
dash was personally signed by Carroll Shelby. Always garage-kept
and meticulously maintained, this Series 1 has just over 1,500
actual miles (mileage not indicated on the title).
