Vehicle Description
This custom Mercury convertible's professional nut-and-bolt,
ground-up restoration began in 2003 and was completed in January
2006. It features a modified and reinforced '39 frame, Fat Man
front end, QA1 coilovers, Wilwood disc brakes and Currie
Enterprises rear leaf springs. It's powered by a 350/370hp crate
engine mated to a TH400 automatic transmission with a Ford 9"
Traction-Lok rear end. This custom convertible is equipped with
power steering and brakes, Moroso quick-jump terminals and battery
disconnect, and has been modified with a 4" chop, smoothed doors
and trunk, molded fenders and Studebaker taillights. The leather
interior features a Flaming River steering column, Vintage Air and
a 300-watt Secretaudio sound system. This meticulously maintained
convertible was the recipient of a Top Ten Award at the 2006
Goodguys East Coast Nationals and a 2008 George Barris Best in Show
Award.
